The Camberley Society has set up a new initiative Natural Surrey Heath jointly with the Blackwater Valley Countryside Trust. The objective to is to make Surrey Heath one of the greenest and most biodiverse boroughs in the country. We have created a press release which has been sent to 50 media outlets and it can be viewed here

We are seeking to achieve development in the borough which contributes to the provision of green infrastructure and enhancement of biodiversity, including the integration of existing and new wildlife habitats.

Natural Surrey Heath hosted a public meeting in the Function Room at Camberley Theatre on 2nd November to explore this question. Our local MP and Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Michael Gove talked about and took questions on the government’s 25-year environment plan. The Assistant Area Manager from Natural England also talked about what they do in relation to Surrey Heath and Daniel Raven-Ellison from London National Park City gave a very inspitational sopreach as well.
